Lawrence Transit System

Lawrence Transit System is the public bus service in the City of Lawrence. All Lawrence buses are free with a KU ID card. Before you get your KU ID card, you can ride the bus for a $1.00 one-way fare or a $2.75 day pass (purchased on the bus, with exact change). All buses are wheelchair accessible and do not run on Sundays or holidays. Find the complete list of routes and times here.

KU on Wheels

KU on Wheels is the transit system for KU and is a division of the Lawrence Transit System.

SafeBus

Safe Bus is a nighttime bus route throughout Lawrence, including downtown. SafeBus operates Thursday through Saturday typically from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am. It is free with a KU ID card.

SafeRide

SafeRide is a free car service transporting you to your place of residence only. It operates seven days a week, from 10:30 pm to 2:30 am when the semester is in session. To use SafeRide, you must have a KU ID card. Schedule a pick-up by dialing 785-864-7233.

K-10 Connector

If you are taking classes at Johnson County Community College or the KU Edwards Campus, you can take the K-10 Connector to get from the Lawrence campus to Overland Park. It takes around one hour transit time and costs $3 each way.

Amtrak Train Station
Amtrak Train Station (LRC) is located in North Lawrence. The railway is on the Southwest Chief line serving major cities throughout the West and Midwest, passengers can connect to other lines throughout their journey. Tickets are available online at www.amtrak.com.

Greyhound Bus Station
Greyhound Bus is an affordable option to travel throughout the U.S. There are two bus stations locations in Lawrence. To book a trip, visit www.greyhound.com.
