Academic Accelerator Program 2 (AAP2)
Ready to empower your international studies? The AAP2 is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support.
As a student in the Academic Accelerator Program 2, you’ll receive:
- The right amount of support for your academic and English-speaking needs
- A full year’s worth of college credits
- Access to courses exclusively for international students
- English-language help with words you need to know for your classes
- A mix of classes with international and U.S. students

*9 credits of English for Academic Purposes count toward requirements in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Other schools may not count credits in English for Academic Purposes courses.
To apply for the Academc Accelerator Program 2 at KU, you should have at least the following qualifications:*

Applications with scores below the published minimums are not automatically denied and will still receive consideration from the college.

Depending on your choice of major, you will follow an elective curriculum in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences based on one of the following three areas of study:
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Science, Technology, Engineering* and Mathematics (STEM) and Information Sciences
- Business*, Finance* and Economics
*Programs in the School of Engineering and School of Business require application to the programs upon completion of the AAP2.
Academic Accelerator Program 3 (AAP3)
A three-semester program for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience.
Expand English language skills in the Applied English Center until reaching an English proficiency high enough to attend English-speaking classrooms.
